CAPE MAY, N.J. — Coast Guard Training Center Cape May Fire Department is scheduled to host approximately 100 civilian firefighters from Cape May County for marine fire training here, Wednesday.
WHO: The training will be given by Tri-State Maritime Safety Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the development of maritime safety in and along the waterways of the States of Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
WHAT: The course was developed recognizing many departments do not have large commercial vessels within their jurisdiction, but may have extensive waterfronts. This is an introduction to the problems associated with marina responses including jurisdiction, operating in the marine environment, terminology, marina fire protection requirements, marine types of ships & facilities, problems unique to marine responses, tactical considerations, safety and incident management.
WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m.
