CAPE MAY, N.J. - Representatives from Coast Guard Training Center Cape May will hold an open house Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Cape May's City Hall, 643 Washington Street, to record public comments on the proposed wind turbines. The Coast Guard proposes to construct and operate a wind power project at Training Center Cape May. The preferred alternative consists of construction of two wind turbines with a total installed capacity of approximately 4 Megawatts. The wind turbines at the training center would be located at sites designed to minimize environmental impacts. Copies of the draft EA are currently available for review at the Cape May Public Library, the Cape May Municipal Building, and on our web site at www.uscg.mil/hq/capemay.
Media members should contact Chief Warrant Officer Veronica Bandrowsky if they would like to arrange for interviews before of after the public meeting at (609) 898-6362.
