QUEBEC 181 FINAL JOURNAL

The time has finally arrived - graduation day. The day that Quebec Company will be released onto the outside world. This is what we were so focused on in the beginning, yet as time went on we realized that we may never experience anything like this again and we began to make the most of our time here. Any thoughts that we had that Week 8 would be easy and that we could just breeze by until graduation were quickly corrected. We had a flashback to indoctrination weekend on Monday on the longest day that we have had so far in training, mainly due to the Guardian Challenge. Despite the pain and exhaustion, by the end of the week we were glad that we were pushed and challenged right up until the very end of training.

As happy as we are to be reunited with our families and start our careers, each of us will miss waking up with our shipmates, even if it is to the sound of "Fire, Fire, Fire!" We have been very fortunate with our shipmates and our Company Commanders. When our recruiters told us that our Company Commanders would be among the most important influences in our lives, we were skeptical. It turned out to be true and the reason that we will be standing on that parade filed on Friday is because of their dedication. BM1 Vedder and BM2 Crews were with us every step of the way, jogging and cycling alongside us to ensure that we could graduate. As for our shipmates, although we had our share of drama and tension, we have never stopped looking out for each other. When we walk off the base, looking forward to some well deserved leave, we know that we will always be proud to be a part of Quebec 181.
