COAST GUARD CELEBRATES CONSTITUTION DAY |
|
| CAPE MAY, N.J. - Coast Guard Loran Support Unit Wildwood invites the public to celebrate Constitution Day at the Cape May Victorian Bandstand in Rotary Park, Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. Constitution Day is a federal observance that recognizes the ratification of the United States Constitution. It is observed on September 17, the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787. Congress established Constitution Day in 2004. Speakers will highlight elements of the Constitution and the ceremony will include a reaffirmation by each military member present to defend and protect the constitution as sworn to when they initially joined their military services. The public and all military members, past and present, are welcome The LSU is located on the southern tip of Wildwood, next to the two-mile beach unit wild life conservation area. LSU is responsible for providing maintenance support and new engineering design for all aspects for Loran-C navigation system and the 29 North American transmit stations.
