OSCAR 182 WEEKLY JOURNAL
Graduation 12/11/2009

When Guardians are not saving lives they are protecting lives from enemies. To prepare for such a mission Oscar Company stared week 05 by going hand-to-hand in pugil stick fighting.  Using padded sticks and safety gear; Oscar Company placed 02 recruits at a time in tactical hand-to-hand fighting. It was a great time that brought us all together to support our shipmates in their fights, as well as prepare us for any potential confrontations we may encounter with America’s enemies. We also were able to relieve built up stress as the adrenaline rushed through our bodies.

We also stared our week by learning about distress signals and marine radio communication. These are essential skills for every Guardian as saving lives involves alerting others.

As we end week 05, we all have our orders! From 378’s to Loran stations, some of us got our first picks while others were left disappointed. We are all excited; as we are prepare for the start of our careers.

This week has been the turning point for Oscar 182.
