ROMEO 182 WEEKLY JOURNAL |
|
|
Romeo-182, full of motivation and commitment was able to complete one of the most important weeks in training. The week started with the company going to the shooting range and learning how to fire a .40 caliber handgun. Many of us had never shot a gun before, but with a few helpful tips from the Gunners Mates we were hitting the targets and following all of the safety regulations. The good shooters also qualified to use the .40 caliber handgun when they get to their first units if their job requires it. A few hours of shooting left the company excited and looking forward to the remaining week. The company then had the physical fitness tests which consisted of pushups, sit-ups, and running a mile and a half. It was not easy for everybody, but we knew the importance of this test and did not back down. We were also able to run outside in beautiful mild weather, rare for the month of December in New Jersey. The most anticipated class this week involved filling out our “dream sheets.” All of Romeo-182 filled out papers stating exactly where they would like to be stationed. If there is a spot open and you qualify to fill that spot then there is a chance you may get it. Everything is based on the needs of the service. All of us are waiting and wondering what the future holds for us. Romeo knows that no matter where we end up, we are going to make the best of the experience and walk away with valuable life lessons. The week finished up with our mid-term that tested us on material we have been learning since day one. Romeo-182 is now half way through training and still pushing to become the best company we be. Honor, respect, and devotion to duty are the qualities we are developing and looking to carry forward with us. |
