UNIFORM 182 WEEKLY JOURNAL |

Uniform 182 Week 01 – 02 On the evening of January 12, 2010 more than one hundred travel weary and nervous young men and women made their way to the Philadelphia USO. The staff at the USO was extremely hospitable, friendly, and encouraging. From the airport in Philadelphia we all made the long bus ride to Cape May. All of us knew that we were in for a change in lifestyle. But I’m certain that not one of us knew the magnitude of that change, or the immediate impact it would have on our lives. After almost three days of being herded around the base like cattle we were picked up by our company commanders. Our lead company commander is Yeoman First Class Mullins, assistant company commanders are Operations Specialist First Class Moon and Aviation Maintenance Technician Second Class Vandenberg. This is when the real training began. Our company commanders have been clear and concise about their expectations from the beginning. We must be loud. We must move quickly with a sense of urgency. And we must always maintain the most utmost self-discipline and military bearing. Our success in this department has been marginal at best, but we believe that uniform company will be able to come together as shipmates to help one another achieve our group and individual goals. |
