Week 03
Uniform 182 has managed to trudge through another week of basic training. We are really beginning to hit our stride academically. Each day seems to be more crammed with classes than the one prior to it. Ranging from seamanship, to Coast Guard history. We are also treated to a healthy diet of physical fitness utilizing the state of the art facilities here at training center Cape May. This of course does not mean that there has been noticeable drop in incentive training. By now, everyone in the company has come to the understanding that our company commanders can, and will make time to reinforce whatever point needs reinforcing at the moment.

The morale of Uniform 182 is, in a word, improved. Not high by any means, but considerably better than previous weeks. I can attribute this to many key factors: first of all, we receive mail and the love and support conveyed through this correspondence has been extremely uplifting to all. Second our company commanders have started issuing hints on how to come together as a team. Finally, and most significantly we are all beginning to see a change in ourselves. We are truly starting to see one another as shipmates and treating each other as such. We are helping each other study and learn knots. Each and every shipmate in this company has something that he or she can contribute to make us a better, stronger team. If teamwork can remain our goal success will find us sooner, rather than later.
