Week Ø7

Victor-182 had an interesting week 7 that not only had shipmates scattered across the regiment in different locations, but it showed us all that we have truly formed into a military family.  The week included another examination under the close watch of our section commander.  Victor-182 had to take the close order drill test with sharp precision.  Through teamwork, it astounded our section commander with near perfect formation and excellent timing.  As a reward for exceeding expectations Victor was granted use of the confidence course.  This highly anticipated event proved to be challenging but rewarding for all.  Victor took another step this week to becoming lifesavers by taking the first aid and CPR class.  The knowledge gained will be used to save the citizens of this land.  This week also brought the end of seamanship classes.  Though sad to leave our spectacular instructor, Victor is now ready to join the fleet, reassured by the fact that the company's final exam average was over 90%.

The torch was passed onto victor as we became the senior company on the regiment.  All the companies and their commanders look to Victor and expect to see perfection.  After accomplishing all that was required Victor was rewarded off base liberty.  The company was able to experience freedom for the first time in nearly 2 months and was able to walk around town in their dress uniforms while being viewed as members of the United States Coast Guard.  It was a remarkable experience for Victor to be viewed with such high respect from the civilians who thanked us for serving our country.

Training is not over but Victor-182 can taste the finish.  Graduation is just a couple days away and the family of Victor-182 will soon be across the globe serving our country.
